P90X is a great innovative program that strays away from the monotony of watching one video over and over again. BeachBody (the parent company) teamed with Trainer Tony Horton has created a successful fitness video series. The dvd package includes 12 workout videos, a nutrition plan, and a fitness guide (informational purposes) to be performed withing a 90 day period. According to Beachbody.com website “P90X system is an advanced training technique called Muscle Confusion™” The concept of muscle confusion is to perform a different variety of exercises each time you workout to prevent your body from getting used to the same routine of exercises. Once this happens your body has reached a plateau in which no gains are being made and you have a boring routine. The 12 workout videos are Chest & Back, Plyometrics, Shoulders & Arms, Yoga X, Legs & Back, Kenpo X, X Stretch, Core Synergistics, Chest Shoulders & Triceps, Back & Biceps, Cardio X, Ab Ripper X. These exercises can be done in the comfort of your home with minimal equipment such as resistance bands, dumbbells, and a pull-up bar. I found most of the videos intense while one or two was tedious such as Yoga X. My favorite videos are Plyometrics, Chest & Back, and Core Synergistics. In the videos the interface is simple and effective with clear instructions given by Tony at all times. Tony also gives alternative methods for you to perform each exercise since we’re all not made the same. He also adds humor in the dvd to create familiarity to the user. I definitely recommend!
*P90X are for advanced users and injury can occur if not performed right. (Results guaranteed)
